Peter Williams, Founder of ‘Fabulously British‘ fashion retailer Jack Wills, will be resuming his role as Chief Executive, following Wendy Becker‘s decision to quit the business.

Though Williams stepped down in 2012, he has remained closely involved in the company and is currently the majority shareholder.

According to a statement from Jack Wills, Becker has decided to step down “with immediate effect”. This came following a decision by the company board and shareholders against launching an IPO.

Becker became Chief Executive for Jack Wills in 2013, after joining the firm in 2012 as Chief Operating officer. She stated that she “fully agrees” with the decision to not pursue an IPO.

“I wish Peter and his colleagues every success in building on Jack Wills‘ great brand and great heritage,” added Becker.

Williams commented that: “I am extremely excited about resuming my role as Jack Wills‘ Chief Executive after a two year break. I would like to thank Wendy for her significant contribution to the business and for putting in place the people and the processes that will enable us to continue our growth.”

Jack Wills prides itself on its British heritage-inspired goods. The brand currently has 80 stores worldwide.
