In the midst of London Fashion Week, Burberry‘s Non-Executive Director David Tyler has announced his plans to step down from the board at the end of the year.

News of Tyler‘s departure was announced yesterday and will take place on 31st December.

Having been director of the luxury fashion brand since 1997, Tyler was later appointed as the Non- Executive Director in 2002. Additionally, Tyler has held and still holds several other roles including his current position as Chairman of J Sainsbury plc and of Hammerson plc. Earlier roles comprised of chairman positions at Logica plc (2007-2012) and 3i Quoted Private Equity plc (2007-2009), as well as a period as Non-Executive Director of Experian plc from 2006 to 2012.

Despite holding several posts, his time at Burberry has been largely successful and valued. Sir John Peace, Burberry Chairman, said: “I would like to thank David for his immense contribution to Burberry over the years since Burberry’s IPO in 2002. His expertise and judgement have been invaluable.”
