Homeware retailer Homebase has appointed Chris McDonough as its new Marketing Director.

McDonough has previous experience in both retail and FMCG, formerly holding the position of UK Marketing Director for Big Four grocer Asda, and left earlier this year. At the grocer, he was responsible for retail, home shopping, George and financial services marketing.

Prior to this, McDonough was UK Managing Director for Molson Coors brands and UK Marketing and R&D Director for multinational dairy company Muller, holding responsibility for both English and Irish businesses.

The new Marketing Director has been successful throughout his career from the offset, where he began at Mars progressing through various roles to be appointed its German Pet Care Commercial Director.

“I am delighted that Chris is joining the team and look forward to welcoming him to the business,” said Managing Director Echo Lu.

“With his functional expertise, diverse experiences and collaborative style, he will be a great asset as we go through the next stage in our journey to be a more customer focused brand.

McDonough will replace Jo Kendrick who is retiring from her position to pursue non-executive roles.

“I would also like to thank Jo Kenrick for her dedication and contribution in the four years she has been with Homebase and wish her all the best” Lu added.
