Superdry is set expand in India by opening a series of new stores along its east coast.

The British fashion retail brand first entered the market in 2012 under an agreement with franchise partner Reliance Brands Limited.

Since its launch in Mumbai, it has since grown to count 21 retail shops across India, including stores in New Dehli, Chennai and Pune.

A new location has been earmarked at the Sohum Emporia in Guwahati, and Superdry hopes to open additional stores in Ahmedabad and Kolkata.

“We are expanding in India,” Reliance Brands head of business Manu Sharma told The Economic Times.

“From 21 outlets. we want to grow to 28 to 29 outlets by this fiscal year.”

The Indian expansion comes as Superdry‘s UK-based parent company SuperGroup works to expand its presence in North America and China.
