Shopping centre operator Intu has agreed terms with global fashion brand Hugo Boss to open a new Boss store at Metrocentre in Gateshead.

The 4047sq ft store will offer the full range menswear and womenswear collections under the Boss label, including ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories.

The store is slated to open in March and it is the latest aspirational retailer to sign up at what is regarded as one of Europe‘s largest shopping destinations.

It will also be the fifth Boss store within Intu‘s portfolio of shopping centres.

The new opening is also part of an ongoing investment programme that has included the refurbishment of Metrocentre‘s Platinum Mall, home to other aspirational retailers, plus the extension of its dining and leisure quarter Qube.

Luxury fashion retailer Flannels also opened at the shopping centre last year, while House of Fraser extended its beauty hall in 2015 to increase its range of luxury brands.

“intu Metrocentre is ideally placed to help brands like Boss flourish thanks to its aspirational retail mix, expansive catchment area and excellent dining offer that is creating even more reasons for our customers to smile as part of their visit with us,” Intu regional director Kate Grant said.
