Sainsbury’s has branched out to formal and premium menswear for the first time, as the grocery giant capitalises on the increase in menswear sales in its Tu fashion division.
The ranges, known as Tu Formal and Tu Premium, is now available to buy online and in 250 of Sainsbury’s largest supermarkets.
Tu Formal also includes denim and footwear, with prices ranging from £130 for tweed jackets to £160 for wool suits.
Sainsbury’s said revenues from its Tu menswear range grew 13 per cent year-on-year, compared to the four per cent average recorded across the label.
“Menswear is the fastest growing area of Tu clothing and, having had a fantastic response to our premium womenswear launch, we wanted men to have a similar choice,” Sainsbury’s commercial director James Brown said.
