Matchesfashion.com is reportedly poised to see record breaking sales this Christmas following a strong year of sales and growth.

The luxury fashion retailer has said that at peak times this month it has been selling 600 items per hour, up from 514 last year. This equates to around one item every six seconds.

Furthermore in the six weeks to December 10 the brand reported a 103 per cent surge in purchases made through its app, while average order prices for its 90-minute delivery service hit £1748.

The healthy growth has reportedly been driven by investments in technology, which last month earned Matchesfashion the prestigious Walpole British Luxury Brand of the Year award.

In September the retailer opened a new distribution centre creating 200 jobs, marking a “significant evolution of our logistics operation” enabling it to handle more than 4 million shipments by 2020.
