Boxpark Wembley construction given green light

The Borough of Brent has granted planning permission for the construction of Boxpark Wembley in north west London.

A 10-year joint venture between Quintain and Boxpark Ltd, the precinct will be the largest Boxpark yet once completed in autumn this year.

It will also be the third Boxpark in London, following sites in Shoreditch and Croydon.

Boxpark Wembley will be located on Olympic Way, in the heart of Wembley Park, and will house 27 independent retailers and food and beverage operators.

Unit sizes will range from 500sq ft to 1800sq ft, and specific tenants will be announced in the coming months.

There will also be a 20,000sq ft dedicated events space and 300 capacity venue.

Boxpark Wembley’s design cater for the millions of visitors who come to the area every year for its sport and music events as well as a shopping destination.

“I’m delighted that the Boxpark Wembley planning has been approved,” Boxpark founder and chief executive Roger Wade said.

“We are looking forward to working closely with our development partner Quintain, Brent Council and Wembley Park stakeholders Wembley Stadium, SSE Arena and London Design Outlet to deliver a world class fan village and street food destination.”

Boxparl Wembley’s planning permission forms part of Quintain’s wider regeneration project of Wembley Park, which once completed will features more than 7000 new homes, 500,000sq ft of retail and leisure space and 630,000sq ft of grade a office space.

It is anticipated that 20,000 people will call the area home by 2027.

“The opening will mark as huge step change in the transformation for the area, adding to the growing offer of shops, homes and activity already here,” Quintain chief operating officer James Saunders said.
