New fashion retail brand Arket has chosen Bluewater shopping centre in Kent as the location of its first store outside central London.

Slated to open in May, the 11,000sq ft store will be located in the centre’s Guildhall and will be the retailer’s fourth UK store.

Created by Swedish retail giants H&M, Arket made its debut on London’s Regent Street last August before opening stores in Covent Garden and Westfield Stratford City.

The new Bluewater store will feature Arket’s signature Nordic-inspired store concept and spacious layout, offering customers its full fashion range, home items, and as well as a cafe.

“There is a tangible sense of quality at Bluewater that complements Arket and we are going to be in great company on the Guildhall,” H&M Group head of expansion Sam Miller said.

“We are very excited to be opening at Bluewater this spring.”

Bluewater’s Guildhall also recently became home to the first Kate Spade store outside London, Coach’s debut standalone store in the South East, and The White Company’s new regional flagship.

Bluewater shopping centre is co-owned and managed by Landsec.
