Asos poised to launch own-brand homewares

Asos is planning to launch its first own-brand homeware range, after quietly expanding its non-clothing offering.

Consumers can already purchase homeware brands from Asos’ website – such as candles, trinkets, cushions, lampshades and rugs – but the online retail giant is in the process of hiring designers to develop its new Asos Homeware collection, featuring textiles, ceramics and hard goods.

The news as the retailer prepares to release its half-year results on Wednesday.

Asos is expected to announce an increase in infrastructure spending of around £200 million to £220 million, which included recent moves such as selling make-up and its own-brand line of “activewear”.
