Retail Gazette Loves: Sainsbury’s ice cream parlors

Sainsbury’s has teamed up with Unilever and set up five in-store ice cream parlours, offering customers cold treats on-the-go.

Sainsbury’s stores in Balham, Wandsworth and Clapham Common now feature Ben & Jerry’s parlours offering exclusive scoop-only flavours like double caramel brownie and cherry garcia.

These will be available by the scoop, or customers can opt for a £6.50 pint-sized tub which customers can pack themselves.

Stores in Bishop Stortford and Walton-on-Thames will also feature stalls selling Carte D’or ice cream, which offer waffles and topping sauces.

“When temperatures hot up, we know our customers love nothing more than to cool down with an ice cream,” proposition manager Nicola Goodall said.

“Our in-store Ben & Jerry’s and Carte D’or parlours offer customers the chance to quickly and conveniently pop in and pick up a scoop – or pint – of ice cream to enjoy.

“Whatever the weather and whatever the occasion, Sainsbury’s customers can find everything they need in our stores.”
