Burberry’s Asia boss Pascal Perrier takes CEO role at La Perla

Burberry’s Asia-Pacific chief executive Pascal Perrier has jumped ship to head up luxury underwear brand La Perla.

Perrier, who will now act as group chief executive, will be tasked with bringing the brand “into a new era of growth” as its new owner Sapinda continues to drive a restructure and turnaround effort.

He joins following a 13-year stint at Burberry, where he held various roles since being brought on as executive vice president of business development.

During his tenure he is credited with helping to develop the Burberry brand in Asia Pacific, now one of its most lucrative markets.

Prior to his career at Burberry, Perrier held roles at Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, and Celine, spanning a 30-year retail career.

“La Perla is an iconic brand and one of the world’s leading players in the luxury space,” he said.

“I am very pleased and impressed with the work done by Sapinda and the La Perla team in the last 6 months and the large potential that this business offers.

“I look forward to working with the Sapinda and La Perla teams to take the business forward in a sector that continues to demonstrate huge growth potential. We will continue to invest in the business and to build on the founding vision and values of the brand.”

Sapinda’s chief executive Lars Windhorst added: “There are few more experienced people to navigate us through these opportunities and take the brand to the next level than someone with the luxury fashion industry clout and know-how of Pascal.”
