Marie Claire branches out to ecommerce

Marie Claire UK has branched out to ecommerce with the launch of a new online shopping platform called Marie Claire Edit.

The fashion magazine has partnered with retailers such as Selfridges, Farfetch, Asos, Matchesfashion and Net-a-Porter to fill the gap between editorial content and online shopping.

It comes after Marie Claire launched a premium beauty store, Fabled by Marie Claire, and extended its partnership with Next.

The new ecommerce platform is an aggregator that features a selection of fashion and accessories curated by editors of the magazine.

Users can browse and shop popular brands directly from the Marie Claire website.

“The job we do as magazines is to inspire, curate, edit, recommend and help our readers and customers make choices,” Marie Claire UK managing director Justine Southall said.

“Marie Claire has tried to anticipate the way that women want to engage with us and to shop, and with Fabled by Marie Claire and now with the launch of Marie Claire Edit, we have taken that into new territory.

“Now the power and influence of Marie Claire’s trusted fashion editors extends even further to offer brands and retailers a new way to engage with consumers through quality native content.”
