John Lewis is set to begin a £21 million investment and refurbishment of its 93,000sq ft store in Queensgate shopping centre, Peterborough.

The refurbishment is due to be completed by January 2020, and will see the entire store overhauled with improvements along with additional new features.

The investment is part of the department store retailer’s wider strategy to offer customers better in-store experience as well as unique products.

The store will feature an experience desk offering services such as personal styling, home design and nursery advice.

Meanwhile, the new beauty hall will introduce new brands and ranges, and will offer a variety of consultations.

The womenswear department will offer customers one-to-one or group personal styling appointments in its Style Studio.

“With concepts such as Experience Desks and Style Studios proving a hit with customers, we are continuing with our plans to roll these services out to more shops,” John Lewis store design and development director Tim Harrison said.

“This investment and the improvements we are making will bring the very best of John Lewis & Partners to Peterborough and we are looking forward to welcoming our customers to their new-look shop.”
