J Crew appoints new CCO to transform brand

// Billy May hired as J Crew CCO

J Crew has appointed Billy May as the new chief customer officer to bolster the brand’s digital transformation across marketing, loyalty, stores, and ecommerce.

May will join office on July 15, and will lead all customer-facing aspects of the business.

He will report to J Crew chief executive Michael Nicholson.

“Billy’s significant industry experience across a range of well-known consumer brands, and his track record of innovative leadership in omnichannel marketing will elevate customer engagement across our digital, mobile, and store channels,” Nicholson said.

“He brings a collaborative, integrated approach to brand development, and we are looking forward to partnering with him to return J. Crew to profitability and long-term growth.”

May was previously the chief executive of Seattle-based independent retailer Sur La Table, before serving as senior vice president and a member of the executive leadership team at Abercrombie & Fitch.
