// Steph Strike has been named as the new MD of George at Asda
// She will replace Nick Jones, who left to become CEO of Joules earlier this year
// Strike has been with Asda for 16 years
Asda has promoted Steph Strike to become the new managing director and vice president of its George fashion division.
Strike – who has been with Asda since 1995 – will replace Nick Jones, who left the supermarket earlier this year to join Joules as chief executive.
Strike started off with Asda as retail graduate before working her way up to category director and then vice-president of customer proposition and planning before being promoted to lead George.
An Asda spokesman told Retail Gazette that Strike will take on her new role with immediate effect and will report directly to Asda president and chief executive Roger Burnley.
Meanwhile, Jones joined Joules after working at Marks & Spencer and Asda for a total of 25 years.
While at Asda, he was responsible for the performance of the Big 4 grocer’s trading divisions across food, general merchandise and George.
