Tesco & Co-op change opening times for Euro 2020 final

// Co-op & Tesco Express stores across England will be closing early
// Iceland won’t be offering home deliveries on Sunday after 7pm

Supermarkets across England are changing the opening times of their stores to allow staff to enjoy watching England in the Euros 2020 final.

The UEFA European Football Championship grand final between England and Denmark will take place at Wembley Stadium later today.

Co-op will close 2,034 of its stores in England at 7.45pm on Sunday night instead of their usual 10pm or 11pm close, while 1,600 Tesco Express branches will do the same.

Stores will then reopen as normal the following morning, with the majority of shops typically open from 6am or 7am.

If the Three Lions’ don’t claim victory over Italy at Wembley Stadium today then its shops will open at their regular time of 8am.

Although Iceland has said that its stores in England can open earlier on Monday regardless of the outcome of the match and there will be no home deliveries on Sunday after 7pm.

The supermarket has also rescheduled all non-essential meetings for head office staff.
