Boohoo releases its first Debenhams.com Christmas advert

Boohoo has unveiled the first Debenhams.com Christmas advert since taking over the retailer.

The film, narrated by eight-year old Scarlett Rock and her father from Staffordshire, focuses on the “importance of togetherness”.

Starting by reminiscing on the last year and special moments families and friends missed out on, the video reminds its audience that unlike 2020, this year people have the chance to make “magical memories” with loved ones.

Highlighting the small activities that make the festive season special, the advert encourages Brits to make this Christmas one to remember, as “this year being together is top of the list”.

The campaign features a family of all ages, highlighting the wide appeal that Debenhams.com’s Christmas offer has, including fashion, beauty and home. It features matching family pyjamas, Lancôme gift sets, novelty jumpers and sequin party wear.

In January, Boohoo Group bought Debenhams’ brand and website for £55m, in a deal that did not include its store portfolio.

Boohoo Group founder and group executive director Carol Kane said: “This year, we welcomed Debenhams.com into the Boohoo family and it’s been an incredible journey so far, with the relaunch of the heritage department store. We have launched the brand’s first campaign, to welcoming back Beauty Club. 2022 is looking to be a big year for us.

“For the first Christmas together, we want to highlight the importance of family and inclusivity, from the perceptive view of a child, throughout the pandemic.

“There is so much hope for this Christmas to be restored to normality, therefore we want to support our customers on this mission to make this year a Christmas like never before with Debenhams.com.”
