Harrods has confirmed its H Beauty fascia will take the place of the House of Fraser in the Metrocentre, Gateshead.
The store features in Retail Gazette’s list of eight must-visit stores opening in 2022.
The luxury department store will take a 30,000sq ft space at the shopping centre for H Beauty, which offers a range of premium and luxury brands under one roof and includes on-site treatments, consultations and demonstrations.

Harrods has signed a 20-year lease for part of the anchor unit that now has an “opening soon” sign attached to its hoardings.
The store will become Harrods’ fifth H Beauty, which made its debut in September 2020 at the Lakeside shopping centre in Essex. It also has stores in Milton Keynes, Edinburgh and will open a store in Bristol in the spring.

H of F must be below 40 stores nationally now as Bournemouth store is closing in March as well.
Many landlords are giving them the boot due to a better return as a non H of F store same with the former Kendal’s of Manchester which won’t be a department store at all any more.
New Look too are closing stores in droves as landlords terminate the break clause and get a full paying tenant with stronger covenant.
