Harrods has confirmed its H Beauty fascia will take the place of the House of Fraser in the Metrocentre, Gateshead.

The store features in Retail Gazette’s list of eight must-visit stores opening in 2022.

The luxury department store will take a 30,000sq ft space at the shopping centre for H Beauty, which offers a range of premium and luxury brands under one roof and includes on-site treatments, consultations and demonstrations.

Harrods has signed a 20-year lease for part of the anchor unit that now has an “opening soon” sign attached to its hoardings.

The store will become Harrods’ fifth H Beauty, which made its debut in September 2020 at the Lakeside shopping centre in Essex. It also has stores in Milton Keynes, Edinburgh and will open a store in Bristol in the spring.
