Frasers to turn House of Fraser Maidstone store into multi-brand flagship

Frasers Group is set to close its House of Fraser store in Maidstone, and transform it into a multi-brand flagship.

The 100,000 sq ft unit at Fremlin Walk will shut its doors from 30 March, and will reopen in the autumn featuring its new department store format Frasers alongside other group brands Flannels and Sports Direct.

Frasers Group has been slowly expanding its Frasers concept, which it launched in Wolverhampton back in 2021.

Knight Frank partner for retail agency David Legat said:Completing this flagship letting and bringing the three incredible brands of Frasers, Sports Direct and Flannels to Fremlin Walk secures the scheme as a retail-led destination long into the future.

“Fremlin Walk has now firmly cemented its position as the centre of Maidstone. We look forward to building on this success and announcing more exciting brands to our line up in the near future.”

Frasers’ majority-stakeholder Mike Ashley has been active investor in retail property of late and is understood to be eyeing an offer for Sheffield’s Meadowhall shopping centre.
