Hugo Boss to launch its own premium resale platform

Hugo Boss is entering the popular resale market with the launch of its very own premium resale platform in the third quarter of 2022 as part of its ongoing commitment to circularity.

The Hugo Boss Pre-Loved offering will include a curated range of clothing that has been traded in by existing customers.

To use the service, customers will use an online process allowing them to return used items to the brand in exchange for credit that can be spent online or in-store on new or pre-owned items.

Once fully quality checked, the pre-owned products will become part of a curated second-hand selection for sale. The service will initially feature clothing, although accessories will be added at a later date.

Operated by FAUME, the service will be accessible through the hugoboss.com online store.

It will be launched first in France before being expanded to Germany, the UK and the US in 2025.

The fashion retailer has also announced that it will be launching a care and repair service in selected German stores later this year, with more key markets to follow. The service will cover the repair of suits, jeans, shoes, jersey products and leather goods.

Hugo Boss chief operating officer Heiko Schäfer said: “The high quality of our products allows them to have several lives, and our entry into the growing resale market is a natural step for us as a company. Hugo Boss Pre-Loved will support our move towards a circular business model, while our repair service will allow customers to wear their favourite pieces for even longer and reduce consumption of scarce resources.”
