Inditex to resume operations in Russia ‘as soon as possible’

Zara owner Inditex has stated that it will resume operations in Russia “as soon as possible, when conditions will allow it”.

The group, which also owns Mango, Pull & Bear, and Bershka, is continuing to “monitor” the situation in the wake of the invasion of Ukraine, which forced the group to temporarily suspend its operations in Russia.

The group operates over 500 stores in the country, where it also employs over 9,000 people.

It closed the stores in early March. At the time, it said: “In the current circumstances Inditex cannot guarantee the continuity of the operations and commercial conditions in the Russian Federation and temporarily suspends its activity.”

Russia accounts for about 8.5% of the group’s global earnings before interest and tax.
