Tesco has confirmed it will soon stock the full range of Heinz products once again in the next coming days after reaching an agreement with the food manufacturer.

Heinz beans, salad cream and tomato ketchup were among the products that had disappeared from Tesco’s shelves in a public pricing row.

Although the UK’s largest supermarket declined to say whether those products would be going up in price due to the new agreement.

The row reflects growing pressure on retailers to deliver better prices to shoppers as the cost-of-living crisis continues and inflation soars.

The dispute between Tesco and Kraft Heinz began at the end of June after the US giant tried to boost the prices it was charging the supermarket.

Kraft Heinz said at the time it was becoming more expensive to make its products.

In a joint statement, Tesco and Heinz said: “Tesco and Heinz are pleased to have reached an agreement that will see the full range of Heinz products return to Tesco shelves and online, continuing to offer our customers great value on the nation’s favourite Heinz varieties.

“Lorries full of Heinz products including Heinz Tomato Ketchup and Heinz Beanz will hit the road shortly, and Tesco colleagues will be working hard to ensure shelves are filled again over the coming days.

“With British summertime finally here, Tesco shoppers will be able to get all the essentials they need for their perfect summer salad or barbecue, including the Heinz varieties they know and love. It’s great to be back together.”

At the start of the week, in a similar move to Heinz the supermarket confirmed that Mars, the owner of pet food brands Whiskas, Dreamies and Pedigree had paused supplies to Tesco in a new pricing row.

A Tesco spokesperson said: “We’re laser-focused on keeping the cost of the weekly shop in check, offering customers great value through our combination of Aldi Price Match, Low Everyday Prices and Clubcard Prices.

“With household budgets under increasing pressure, now more than ever we have a responsibility to ensure customers get the best possible value, and we will not pass on unjustifiable price increases to our customers.
