Visitors can find selfie spots and photo ops around the malls, including a rainbow house and a 3D floor, grass sofa, floral swing benches and more.

HMV will also be brining music to the malls with a selection of acoustic performances in The Qube.

“We want this event to be a real celebration of summer for all the family and we can’t wait to kick start the festivities,” Metrocentre Marketing Manager, Helen Atkinson said.

“The festival is about more than having fun together as a community, the event will also be raising money for FareShare North East who help to provide nutritious food to a range of charities and community groups across the North East. With the cost of living on the rise, the work that this charity does is more important than ever, and we are proud to be supporting their work across our region.”

Shoppers visiting the centre between 11th – 14th August are encouraged to visit Town Square to be in with a chance of winning a £1,000 Metrocentre Gift Card.
