Hush has appointed former Feelunique executive Sarah Miles to take over from Kate Bartman as chief executive.

Miles will join the women’s retailer on January 16 2023, bringing with her 25 years of experience driving growth in major UK-based and global retailers.

Bartman will return to her previous role as chief trading officer after two years helping to boost the brand’s customer base by more than 50%.

Miles said she has “long admired” the women’s fashion and lifestyle brand “for its outstanding customer connection and truly differentiated product proposition”.

“I look forward to working together with the rest of the hush team to build on the important progress made over recent years and to lead the brand through its next phases of strategic growth.”

During her time at Feelunique, joining in 2019, Miles oversaw its £132 acquistion by Sephora, which later merged with the ecommerce platform in October this year.

Prior to that, Miles spent five years at Amazon including three as apparel and private brands director.

She also held multiple roles during a 12-year stint at drinks manufacturer Diageo, including managing director of Diageo Wines Europe and managing director of reserve brands, carrying responsibility for global brands such as Guinness, Baileys, Smirnoff and Johnnie Walker.

Hush chair Susanne Given said: “We are delighted that Sarah will be Hush’s next CEO.

“Sarah has an outstanding track record across some of the world’s leading consumer businesses and I have no doubt hush will continue to thrive under her leadership.

“Sarah brings not only vast experience of driving strategic growth across several great retailers but also a broad international perspective and a deep passion for sustainability and purpose-led brands.”
