Rent the Runway to sell pre-loved designer clothing on Amazon

Rent the Runway is set to launch an online storefront with Amazon as the rental fashion platform looks to reach beyond the subscription business model.

The American company, which was founded in 2009 lets customers rent clothes and shop second-hand merchandise from over 800 designers.

The collection of preloved merchandise includes hundreds of styles from over 35 brands, spanning workwear, jumpers and more, offering Amazon Fashion customers an affordable way to update their wardrobes.

Alongside the storefront, the company is introducing an exclusive range of items from its Design Collective, where top design talent get an opportunity to create limited-edition collections informed by Rent the Runway’s data and insights from customers – which will only be available through Amazon Fashion and Rent the Runway online.

These pieces go on to be among its most popular, said the business.

Through this launch with Amazon Fashion, Rent the Runway deepens its commitment to being a customer discovery platform for designer brands by expanding its reach to new audiences.

Rent the Runway chief executive and co-founder Jenn Hyman said: “Collaborating with Amazon Fashion brings Rent the Runway incredible brand awareness.
