M&S slammed over new inaccessible self-service checkouts

A disabled customer has taken to Twitter to voice her frustrations over the inaccessibility of M&S’ self-checkout tills at a store in Ipswich.

The user, writing under the handle of @RieRieB said that she left the store ‘extremely upset’ after finding the till being ‘too high’ for her to reach, meanwhile the basket ‘too low’.

    The new tills in m&s are difficult to use compared to the older type. In addition to this they only have 1 staff member trying to look after 10 tills. I had to queue for a long time to use the (I was just purchasing flowers) and would have been quicker using a normal till!!
    So much for progress

    Best thing to do is to refuse to use the self service checkouts and speak out
