Tesco cuts value of Clubcard reward vouchers

// Tesco is cutting the value of its Clubcard rewards scheme from 14 June
// Points will be worth twice their value, instead of the three times they are now

Tesco is slashing the value of its Clubcard rewards scheme later this year as it revamps loyalty scheme.

From 14 June, Clubcard points will be worth twice their value instead of triple when exchanged with its reward partners, including Legoland and Pizza Express.

The grocer is extending the validity period on Tesco Clubcard Reward Partner codes ordered until 13 June to 12 months rather than the usual six months.

A Tesco spokesperson said: “Clubcard unlocks the best value from Tesco – from thousands of exclusive deals through Clubcard Prices, to money off your groceries and fuel, or accessing double the value of your vouchers with more than 100 Clubcard Reward Partners.”

“We are making a change to how members can use their vouchers with our Reward Partners, but they will still be able to unlock great value in the same range of ways as before.”

The grocer becomes the latest retailer to make its loyalty scheme less generous in recent months.

From May, Boots customers will now earn three advantage card points for every £1 spent, compared with the previous four points for every £1.
