AO has become the first UK online retailer to stock ‘as new’ mobile phones which are now available through its Mobile Phones Direct brand.
The retailer will sell used and refurbished Apple handsets alongside a range of brand-new ones.
Each of the ‘as new’ phones will come from Apple factories with a 12-month warranty and are delivered in recyclable brown packaging rather than the standard white branded box.

Mobile director Scott Hooton said: “There is huge demand right now for more cost-effective options when it comes to upgrading or replacing mobile phones so we’re thrilled to be the first online retailer to launch this special new range of ‘as new’ phones for UK customers.
“There’s a lot of pressure on household budgets, but consumers are still keen to keep up with the latest in technology, including mobile phones, which are an essential part of everyday life.
“We’re excited to be the first in the UK to bring these products to market providing consumers with a cost-effective and more environmentally-friendly option for investing in new technology at a time when these considerations are more important than ever.”

Another really inaccurate article.
AO are certainly not the first Online (or even high street) Retailer to sell ‘As New’ Apple phones, Apple themselves do this online as do Carphone Warehouse, Nearly all the mobile phone networks themselves and other Online retailers such as Music Magpie (plus many others). This is not new news, just old news spun to sound new.
