Frasers Group is to axe up to 200 roles at its head offices in Shirebrook and London as it looks to drive efficiencies across the business.

The retail giant has entered a consultation period with 20% of its head office staff at risk of redundancy.

The move is part of a streamlining process following a recent acquisition spree which saw the group snap up five fashion brands from JD Sports and The Mall shopping centre in Luton earlier this year.

“Frasers Group has gone through significant change over the last year, having made a number of strategic acquisitions and accelerated progress against the elevation strategy,” the group said.

“We are reviewing our team structures to identify efficiencies and streamline processes, and we have entered a consultation period with colleagues affected by these changes.

“The changes will ensure we have the right structure and talent to support continuing profitable growth for Frasers Group.”

Last week, it was reported the group was in advanced talks to acquire the stock and intellectual property assets of THG-owned cycling goods specialist ProBikeKit.
