M&S expands ‘Brands at M&S’ platform as it eyes market share growth

// M&S adds Skechers, Crocs and Toms to its ‘Brands at M&S’ banner
// Over 200 styles will be introduced to the retailer’s website

M&S has added Skechers, Crocs and Toms to its online platform as the retail giant looks to grow its market share in footwear.

The three brands will add 200 new styles to the ‘Brands at M&S’ platform, bringing the total number of footwear brands on the retailer’s website to 15.

M&S said the partnerships come “at a time when each are delivering strong performance independently”, with each reporting double-digit sales growth.

The retailer said the footwear market was a “key opportunity for growth”, which is estimated to be worth more than £14m in the UK.

Managing director of clothing and home Richard Price said: “At M&S, our footwear performance is at its strongest during the autumn winter – customers come to us because they know they can trust in the value, style and quality of our range – from leather boots to loafers.

“Through our Brands at M&S platform, we are building a carefully curated offer of third-party partners which enhance customers’ shopping experience and increase our style credentials.”

He added: “With the arrival of three global brands in the leisure footwear category, together with a refreshed and reshaped own-brand offer – we’re confident that we have a compelling footwear offer to win during the summer months too.”

Back in March, it was revealed the retailer was looking to increase the number of third-party brands on its platform from 60 to 100 in a bid to entice shoppers away from high-street rivals Next and John Lewis.
