Aldi has launched its biggest round of price cuts on fruit and vegetable essentials, including bananas, apples, spinach and courgettes.

The latest price drop represents around one third of its produce range, which has seen 55 items fall by an average of around 11%.

The price cut is the latest of more than 100 price drops at Aldi over the past few months. It comes as consumer watchdog Which? confirmed Aldi as the UK’s cheapest supermarket for the 15th month in a row.

Last week the German discount giant opened its 1,000th store as part of its commitment to expanding its store footprint across the UK.

It aims to open 500 new stores to reach its ambitious target of 1500, meaning the company is on the hunt for more locations across the UK.

Aldi UK managing director of buying Julie Ashfield said: “Our promise to our customers is that we will always keep our prices as low as possible. We remain fiercely committed to doing that – now and always.

“This latest price drop is part of our efforts to make healthy, high-quality groceries accessible to everyone. That will always be our mission, and it’s why we continue to see shoppers switch to Aldi.”

Aldi need to sort out their watery sauces for cooking as they are just bad and put more foreign delicacies on the shelf. We can all get muffins and Swiss rolls from any UK shop. Aldi and lidl should stick with spicing up the uk
