Oliver Bonas profits top £9m as sales remain ‘resilient’

Oliver Bonas profits jumped even higher last year as high inflation did not discourage shoppers from splashing their cash.

Pre-tax profits for the lifestyle retailer surged 21% to £9.1m in the year to December 31 2022, up from £7.7m, according to documents filed on Companies House.

Revenue rocketed 23% to £115m over the period.

Sales “remained resilient” in 2022 despite the concerns posed by high inflation.

The middle-class favourite, which has more than 80 stores across the UK, opened eight last year and “dramatically increased” the size of two others.

The retailer said “things are slightly brighter” in the new year as inflation eases and that it would continue its store expansion programme and building out its omnichannel experience.
