Urban Outfitters has opened its first ever stand-alone denim retail space in the form of a brand-new pop-up store BDG Jeans by Urban Outfitters.
The 275 sq ft store, which opened on September 29th at King’s Road Chelsea, has been transformed into ‘a true Urban Outfitters space’ that highlights the brand’s full denim range and key items from the BDG AW23 collection.
To celebrate the launch, the fashion retailer is offering customers the opportunity to swap any pair of old jeans on September 30th for a new pair of BDG Logan or Jaya, for free.
The old denim, once received by the shop, will be recycled in various ways.
Reused jeans that are ready for second life will be resold through Urban Renewal, Urban Outfitters’ vintage department.
For reworked denim that needs some love, Urban Outfitters will repair and redesign to resell through Urban Renewal.
While recycled items will be turned into denim homeware pieces in partnership with Upcycle Labs.

Urban Outfitters fashion director Malika Zagzoule said: “Denim is coming through as a key item for autumn winter 2023. We saw a rise in desirability through spring summer with iconic 90s styles and brands worn by gen z which has led to being the driving force behind this trend.
“Our designers have worked to spotlight our unique take on the key trends for AW23 to ensure we stand out from other retailers. Our jeans and denim are rich with design and we want to spotlight our offering with the BDG Jeans pop-up.”
The pop-up adds to the continued expansion of Urban Outfitters Europe with three further retail spaces set to open from November 2023.
This summer it opened a ‘Summer Dress’ pop-up store on Kings Road, which the retailer called a dedication to the “celebration of summer and design”.
