Ryman launches new app to ‘disrupt the online greeting cards industry’

Ryman has launched its first mobile app as owner Theo Paphitis vows to “disrupt the online greetings card industry”.

Shoppers can now browse and personalise over 2,000 greeting card designs through the stationery retailer’s app, which can then be picked up from one of its 198 shops across the UK.

Each card provides donations for the British Dyslexia Association and the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity, which the retailer works closely with.

Paphitis said the app “enables us to offer something completely unique in the online greeting card industry using the strength of the high street and the Ryman portfolio of stores”.

He said: “Like others, you can download the app and personalise one of thousands of cards, but what makes ours unique is that you can then collect that card in a Ryman store within just 60 minutes.”

“A percentage of sales will help those supported by the charities and contribute to the minimum £100,000 of support I have pledged from the Ryman business, helping to empower and build a positive mindset for those with dyslexia.”

Last year, the retailer launched a new loyalty reward scheme, Ryman Rewards, to support its customers amid the cost-of-living crisis.

As part of the scheme, members are rewarded with exclusive pricing across hundreds of the retailer’s products in-store and online.
