Boohoo Group is set to cut more than a hundred jobs at its head office in Manchester as it looks to trim costs across the business.

The fashion giant is understood to have entered a consultation with around 200 members of staff, Drapers reported.

The affected employees are spread across brands such as Boohoo and PrettyLittleThing, as well as its buying, merchandise, design, marketing, analytics and tech teams.

Boohoo’s latest job cuts are thought to be part of new chief executive Dan Finley’s cost-saving plan as the group looks to recoup its losses, which plunged to £147.3m in the six months ending August.

Finley said in a video message on Tuesday: “Over the last four weeks…I have executed £30m in cost savings and there’s tens of millions more to come.”

Boohoo hit back at Frasers earlier today as it responded to the Sports Direct owner’s latest open letter to shareholders urging them to appoint Mike Ashley and Mike Lennon as directors.

The fashion giant claimed “desperate people do desperate things” as Frasers described the retailer’s conflicts and governance concerns as “grossly exaggerated”.
