Harrods has named Geoff Weaver as its new chief financial officer.

Weaver joins the luxury department store from Tui, where he has worked for the last 14 years and currently serves as the travel company’s finance director for its markets and airlines division.

He succeeds Tim Parker, who stepped down as Harrods’ CFO in May to pursue other opportunities.

The retailer’s managing director Michael Ward said: “As we continue to invest in our transformation and future growth, I am delighted to welcome Geoff to Harrods.

“His commercial acumen, digital expertise and people-first leadership will be instrumental as we continue to evolve our business and reinforce our authority in luxury across all categories and channels.”

Harrods become the latest retailer to fall victim to a cyber attack last month, following hits on M&S’ and Co-op’s systems weeks before.

A spokesperson for the retailer said at the time: “We recently experienced attempts to gain unauthorised access to some of our systems.

“Our seasoned IT security team immediately took proactive steps to keep systems safe, and as a result, we have restricted internet access at our sites today.”
