Asda has slashed the price of its flu jab to 60p, marking its lowest ever price.
In continuation of its 60th anniversary celebrations, the supermarket is offering the 60p jab to the first 6,000 customers who pre-book their appointment between 22 and 28 September.
The price is set to revert back to £14.97 after these slots have been booked.
The price reduction comes after research from Asda found that 68% of men believed “man flu” was real, while many men admitted to cancelling plans twice a month due to feeling unwell.
As part of the campaign, Asda has teamed up with former England and Liverpool footballer Neil “Razor” Ruddock, who is urging men to get the flu jab.
The grocer has also teamed up with Barking Football Club, in London , to encourage communities to “get back in the game”.
An Asda spokesperson added: “This research shows just how much flu impacts everyday life – from missed nights out to time off the pitch and time off work. Our 60p flu jab service is about removing barriers and making it easier than ever for people to protect themselves and those around them.
“Asda has stood for great value over the last 60 years, and this is another way we’re helping families look after their health without the high price tag.”
