M&S is preparing to give an update on its cyber attack recovery as it unveils its half year results later this week.

The update will mark the first time the food and fashion retailer has revealed the extent of the damage caused by the cyber attack in April.

Ahead of its half year results on 5 November, analysts have forecast that the business will report half-year adjusted pre-tax profits of roughly £111m.

For its full year, M&S is expected to pull in a profit between £600m and £685m, after a recovery during its second half.

The results come after the retailer paused its online sales for approximately six weeks following the cyber attack earlier this year.

The incident was initially reported when M&S issued an apology after a technical glitch left UK customers unable to use contactless payments or click-and-collect services over the April Bank holiday weekend.

In August, it was reported that the company was still grappling with the fallout from the cyber attack, with several of its internal IT systems yet to fully recover.
