Next has joined forces with stock clearance specialist Retail Realisation as it seeks a takeover of Russell & Bromley.
The fashion retailer is working with Retail Realisation on its interest in the shoe and bag specialist, Sky News reported.
The alliance between the companies underlines Next’s interest in the retailer’s brand rather than its stock or store estate, industry sources said.
The proposal is one of a number believed to be under consideration by financial advisory Interpath, which is advising the footwear chain on the process.
Retail Gazette has contacted Next for comment.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Next was considering snapping up LK Bennett, after the luxury fashion retailer filed an application with the High Court in December to appoint administrators.
The retail giant is reportedly mulling a cut-price offer to purchase LK Bennett’s brand and other intellectual property assets.
