Gymshark is set to open its first-ever gym later this year, marking one of the biggest strategic shifts in the brand’s history.

The Gymshark Lifting Club will open in Wynwood, Miami, giving the fitness apparel brand a dedicated gym space for its community for the first time.

It’s a major moment for the Birmingham-founded business, which launched in 2012 and has grown into one of the UK’s biggest retail success stories.

Gymshark now counts more than 20 million community members across 230 countries.

While the business built its name as a digital-first brand, it has steadily expanded its physical footprint in recent years.

After opening its first flagship on London’s Regent Street in 2022, Gymshark went on to launch stores in Manchester, Amsterdam and Dubai, before opening its US flagship on Bond Street in New York in December 2025.

Despite years of community events and large-scale fitness activations, the brand has never before operated its own gym.

The new concept takes Gymshark into a fresh vertical, and one that is closely tied to its identity.

The retailer has long positioned itself around gym culture, with its “We Do Gym” brand platform rooted in the lifting community that helped build the business.

Founder and chief executive Ben Francis said: “The question I’ve been asked the most over the past 13 years is ‘when is Gymshark going to open a gym’? Our community has been crying out for it, and it’s something I’ve always dreamed about, but the timing and location had to be right.

“I’ve visited Miami many times, but even from the very first visit, I knew this would be the only place to open Gymshark’s first gym. The fitness culture, the lifting legacy, the insatiable appetite for health meant it could only ever be Wynwood.

“This will be a gym desired by our community, inspired by our community and, most importantly, for our community. We talk a lot about being the gym brand. I genuinely believe that opening our own gym only strengthens that claim.”

Gymshark said Miami was a natural fit for the launch, pointing to the city’s strong lifting culture and its own history of hosting major LIFT events there, which have attracted more than 20,000 attendees.

Further details on the gym, including memberships and opening date, are expected in the coming weeks.
