Lululemon has introduced Klarna payments across its UK and German stores.

Customers can reportedly access the service by scanning a QR code at checkout and completing the transaction through the Klarna app.

Shoppers can choose to spread the cost across interest-free instalments or delay payment for a month, without applying for a separate card while in store.

The rollout builds on Lululemon’s existing online partnership with Klarna, which has offered flexible payment options to the retailer’s ecommerce customers for more than five years.

Klarna chief commercial officer David Sykes said customers should not lose payment flexibility when moving between online and physical stores.

The in-store service is being delivered through Lululemon’s integration with global payments platform Adyen and is available across the retailer’s UK and German estate from this week.

The move forms part of Klarna’s wider push into bricks-and-mortar retail as the payments firm seeks to expand beyond ecommerce.

Klarna said global in-store spending is estimated to be worth around $28tn (£20.8tn) annually, almost four times the value of online expenditure.
