Bodycare is set to return to Derby this weekend with the opening of its latest next-generation ‘Studio Store’ at Derbion.

It will open the doors to its new store on Saturday 22 August, marking its first Studio Store in the East Midlands and the second of the new format nationwide following its Sheffield debut.

The Derby opening forms part of Bodycare’s wider relaunch and national expansion programme, with the business targeting 15 Studio Stores by the end of 2026 and more than 150 locations across the UK over the next five years.

Bodycare’s new concept combines its traditional value-led health and beauty offer with an expanded selection of skincare, cosmetics, fragrance and wellness products.

The Derbion store will also feature K-Beauty ranges, a professional piercing studio, Technic cosmetics and a free-to-use Creator Studio.

The content creation space will be available to local creators, charities and community groups, offering professional facilities to create and share content about Derby and its communities.

Derbion managing director Beth McDonald said: “We’re hugely excited to welcome Bodycare back to Derbion with a brand new concept store.

“As well as offering exceptional value for customers, the Creator Studio will be a brilliant addition which is sure to prove extremely popular with our local community here in Derby.”

She added that Bodycare was the latest in a string of new retailers to join the shopping centre this year, with further announcements expected.

Bodycare chief executive Charles Denton said Derby’s history as a centre of manufacturing and creativity made it a natural fit for the retailer’s new format.

“Derby is known across centuries for giving people the resources and equipment to make something valuable. That is what we are doing with the Creator Studio,” he said.

“It is a professional broadcast studio inside a shop, free to anyone in Derby who wants to use it.”

Denton said the studios sit “at the heart” of Bodycare’s new Studio Store concept, which aims to turn its shops into destinations for product discovery, live content, creator experiences and expert-led brand events.

“By combining retail with live content, creator experiences and expert-led brand events, the format allows customers to discover emerging products, trends and advice in an interactive environment,” he added.

Bodycare is also aiming to partner with 10,000 creators across the UK before Christmas as part of its renewed growth strategy.

The Derby store will launch with an opening-day showcase on Saturday.
