Decathlon is set to shutter its Cheltenham flagship store on 29 August after five years, according to a report from Gloucestershire media brand So Glos.
The store, which is based on Cheltenham’s Regent Arcade, formed the company’s first shop in the south-west of England.
The 20,000 sq ft Cheltenham store launched in November 2021, taking over part of the previous BHS unit. The site marked Decathlon’s first shop in Gloucestershire.
Retail Gazette has contacted Decathlon for comment.
The news comes after the French company recently introduced its own version of the famed ‘Middle Aisle‘ promotion across its UK and Ireland stores, websites and app.
Its new value-focused offer features a rotating selection of products linked to seasonal events, with prices fixed for six weeks at a time.
