Rigby & Peller has said that new stores in affluent St John‘s Wood and one in north Yorkshire helped grow sales to £9.7m in 2014, from £9.2m the previous year.

Centralising its online business at the headquarters of its parent company, Belgian lingerie business Van de Velde, led to a loss of £141,000 for Rigby & Peller. As a result, Van de Velde transferred £1.5m to the company.

Rigby & Peller currently has 10 stores in the UK, with aspirations to open between 20 to 30 more in the next five years.

Following a six week refurbishment, the company reopened its flagship London store in Knightsbridge. The 1,650sq ft outlet features a highly dedicated made-to-fit area, as well as a 3D mirror for patrons to enjoy.

The chain also has an international presence. Last month alone it opened 13 stores in the US, including an outlet on Fifth Avenue in New York. Rigby & Peller also boasts two outlets in Germany, two in Denmark and two in Hong Kong.

In accounts filed yesterday the upmarket lingerie chain said “The company remains committed and confident for the future and has expanded its operations and continues to do so.”
