Issa brothers’ EG Group to provide opportunities for 500 apprenticeships over three years

Approximately 500 apprentices are set to be taken on by EG Group over the next three years, it has been announced.

These will be offered across its head office and proprietary brands including Leon, the “naturally fast food” chain, and the Cooplands bakery business.

The apprenticeships will cover a wide range of disciplines and departments, including HR and payroll, finance, legal, surveying, insurance, data analytics and IT.

Apprentices will also be able to take up learning opportunities at site level within foodservice, fuel, grocery and merchandise workstreams.

Approximately 200 apprentices are already working across EG Group’s business, with a further 300 apprenticeship roles expected to be created in 2023 and 2024. The expansion follows a successful trial and graduation of the group’s first cohort of 33 apprentices in September 2021.
