The chief of sales and retail operations at DIY giant Kingfisher is stepping down from his post less than a year after he started there.

According to Retail Week, Jean-Paul Constant’s departure is the latest blow for the parent company of Screwfix and B&Q, happening a week after B&Q retail director Damian McGloughlin also left.

While Constant is leaving less than a year after he was hired from Decathlon to replace senior directors Guy Colleau and Alain Souillard,  McGloughlin is leaving after 32 years with B&Q to become Bunnings UK’s new chief operating officer.

A Kingfisher spokesman confirmed Constant‘s resignation with Retail Week but did not reveal a reason for it.

Earlier this year, former B&Q boss stepped down for a vice president role at Netto International. His replacement, Christian Mazauric, will begin on July 1.

The news comes as Kingfisher begins to roll out its five-year turnaround plan – One Kingfisher – which was put together by group chief executive Véronique Laury.
