Office CEO Brian McCluskey retires after 15 years

Office’s chief executive of more than 15 years Brian McCluskey is set to step down from the retailer.

McCluskey, who is credited with growing the footwear retailer’s “significant ecommerce platform” and expanding its reach outside of the UK, will retire on November 30.

He will be succeeded by Sonos’ vice president of global retail Lorenzo Moretti, who will join Office as designate chief executive next month.

Moretti joins with a wealth of retail experience, having spent 11 years at Marks & Spencer in various roles including Thailand country manager, 10 years at Tesco heading up its East China arm and nearly three years at Gap.

“We are most thankful to Brian for his significant contribution to Office and we wish him well in his retirement,” chief executive of Office’s parent company Truworths Michael Mark said.

“We also thank him for the lengthy advance notice he gave us of his intention to retire, which gave as ample time to choose a successor and to restructure Office for the benefit of its long term sustainability.

“Lorenzo has spent over 25 years in the consumer retail industry and has a proven record of developing businesses and people.

“He led and implemented different customer propositions across all channels in many European and Asian countries, and has vast experience in all aspects of retail, including strategy, brands, sales, marketing, store development, visual merchandising, people and operations. We look forward to his heading up the Office executive team.”
