Inditex begins remote working to prevent spread of coronavirus

The Spanish fashion retailer Inditex has started to implement remote working to deal with the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

The Spanish fashion retail giant Inditex has reportedly started to implement remote working in reaction to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

Fashion Network reported that the company, which owns Zara and several other fashion chains, is implementing remote working as much as possible at its head office in Arteixo, A Coruña.

Other measures taken by the retailer include the temporary closure of its on-site gym and bus services at its Galician head office.

These steps will also be implemented in the group’s offices in Tordera, in the province of Barcelona.

The world’s biggest fashion group by revenue which is set to report its annual financial results next week, has also limited external visits to its head office.

Journalists will listen to the financial presentation via telephone rather than attending the event in person.

Spain is one of the worst affected countries in the coronavirus outbreak.

It recently hit 2968 diagnoses, with 84 people dying.
